Dance Sleepover

Last Saturday some of the girls had a sleep over at the dance studio. Some of us moms spent the night too. We however slept on air matresses, not gymnastic mats and sleeping bags. They rented movies and ate munchies while the moms gossiped. A good time was had by all...

Dance Performance

On Sat Oct 8th Vi and the Sundance Competition teams dance during intermission at a local charity event. Melissa competed in the AZ Dancing with the Local Community Leaders. She came in 3rd! It was a great experience and Vi had a blast.

School Spirit

Where oh where has Miss Victoria been?!? Well, she now goes by Tori at school...3rd grade has been quiet busy to say the least. Between school, dance and swim lessons we barely have time to breathe.
Victoria is lovin' 3rd grade and her teacher Mrs Kann. The week before school started she got braces. So far so good. It is amazing how quickly her teeth are moving. We can already see it! Victoria is lucky to have her BF Nika in her class again this year. -And to add to the fun a friend from dance, Isabella, now goes to school with her.

Dance is going well. Miss Melissa is really working her and it shows! It is amazing how good she is getting. :D She is also doing great in swimming. She is just about to move up to the next level! On top of all this dance and swim she is still ahead of the curve in school!

She continues to amaze me with the fact that she is not only doing awesome in school but she can remember 13 dances. I am more and more proud of her everyday! Summer Break

So summer break is 3 weeks in. We have been busy, busy. Here are a couple of pictures of what has been going on.

Vi got a trophy for getting all 3 splits. She has been working really hard. Great job Vi!


The competition team performed at the Philipine Independance Day Celebration. They are always a hit.


Sabrina, Madeline and Otis are out for a visit. We of course had to celebrate the girls brthday.


Vi and Morgan had cheer camp. It was sponsored by the High School cheer team. The girls loved it!

So summer break is 3 weeks in and we have been going non-stop.

So long 2nd grade...hello summer break!

Yesterday was the last day of school! After the last month I think I was more excited than Vi. I am doing more and more at the school (which I love) but it keeps me super busy (hence the lack of posts).
Vi has officially passed the 2nd grade (like there was any doubt :D)! She finished up the year on a high note. She had a little trouble in math in the middle of the year (they say that second grade is when kids start to hate math because it gets hard) but with the help of her AMAZING teacher she pulled ahead! She got such a great report card she got to pick out a toy from target. She is really into Monster High dolls...

We shall see what the summer brings!

Legacy Wall

Brisas is starting a new tradition, a Legacy Wall. You can buy and paint a tile and they will put it on the school in the courtyard. On Thursday we went to the pottery painting place and made ours. It turned out really nice. I can't wait to see it once it is complete!

Never a dull moment

As you all know we are always on the go, never a dull moment in the Taugner World... Vi lost another tooth and as you can see the adult tooth was already on the way in! Poor Vi will def nned braces. Here top jaw is too small...we are already saving up... We went to exchange the dresses Papa Dad sent her for Easter. This is the "fancy dress" she picked out. It is so cute. Papa Dad sent Vi an Easter mask. Of course she had to put in on and ham it up!

Busy Weekend

If the month of April is anything like the first weekend I'm in trouble. Holy Moly were we busy! And hot, temps were at 99 degrees. A nice little tease of what the summer brings. Friday night was the Spring Carnival at school. What a great event! There was so much to do...bouncies, petting zoo, pony rides, games, food, dunk tank (thats right, dunk your teacher) and the main event teachers and both principals KISSING A COW!!! The students have a "change drive" to raise money for the carnival. They have one week to bring in loose change. The teachers with the most and the least have to kiss the cow. And...if the entire school raised $750 the principals had to kiss the cow too! The school raised almost $1,400!!! Vi's teacher didn't have to kiss the cow but she was excited to see her principal kiss the cow. Of course Vi wanted to ride a pony. And by pony I mean little pony. Check out how small this thign was. Since Vi is so petite they put her on the smallest pony. HAHA What a arm...VI dunked her teacher AND the principal. She had such a blast! On Saturday Eddie took Vi and Morgan to the Phoenix Zoo. He let them ride the camel. Vi said it was a bumpy ride. Nothing like waking up and going for a bike ride. They love our big backyard, perfect to ride bikes!

Good Friends

Yesterday Vi had a dance competition. The girls did so great. Vi and Morgan got a special judges award for their duet! These comps make for very long days. Inbetween performing and awards a bunch of us went to Olive Garden to get some food. We are very lucky to have such great friends!

Vi's Bedroom

Of course the first room we have completely set up is Vi's room. She is very excited because her room is so big (it is a 2 master room house so her room is the same size as ours). Thanks to Auntie Patt Vi has a new bedding set.

Here is a shot of her "work area". We got her a desk and she set up her computer. We also hung up her white board. We are going to get her a beaded curtain.

Her room is so big we were able to put all her toys in her room. She is having a blast playing in her room.

I'm so happy she loves her room. When we first told her we were moving she was upset and didn't want to. I guess all it took was a giant room. We'll have to keep that in mind for next time we move :)

Bike

We got Vi a new bike yesterday. Yes, you are remembering right, last Easter Grandma Liz did buy her a bike. It is a 20 inch and too big for her. She is too scared to ride it because she can't touch the ground. Well she was getting really upset because she couldn't ride and we felt she did need to learn so we bought her a 16 inch and she hasn't stopped riding since we bought it!

That is typical Vi form. She waits and waits until she is ready and comfortable and then once she is ready, she goes and doesn't stop...

She is very proud of herself and so are we!

Some catching up to do...

So I know it has been a while since I really posted something of substance but things have been crazy with the move. Here is a quick catch up...

My teacher friend in Boston sent a "Flat Stanely" friend to learn about Arizona. We need to take it on adventures and Vi needs to write a report for the 2nd grade class in Boston. She loves it and has been carrying it around everywhere.

Vi's class went to see the pony express. It is the last mail carriers on horse in the world. It was so cool to see them ride into Scottsdale!

Vi got a commemorative bandana and some of the cowboys signed her poster. She was also able to write a letter that was delivered via pony express. SO COOL!

Matthew came to visit for Christmas...

Denise did too. So did Papa Dad but Vi didn't get a picture.

Sooo...I think we are pretty much caught up. I'm going to try to be better about posting stuff now that we are "settled" in...

Foot Rub

Today I wasn't feeling too good so Vi offered to give me a foot rub. She even made small talk while she rubbed my feet.

Spotlight Dance Cup

Saturday Vi had a dance competition. They did so great! Not only did they get group awards but they got tons of extra judges awards. They did so good!! Congrats girls!

100 days of school

Last Tuesday was the 100th day of school. Vi's class dressed up like 100 yr olds.
