On August 4th we dropped her off for her first day and on Thursday May 20, 2009 Vi graduated from kindergarten. I can not even believe the year is already done...it has gone by so fast.I am utterly amazed at how much she has learned over the past 10 months. She is reading and writing, she can count by 5s and 10s, she knows addition and subtraction, she knows about space, volcanos, the ocean, the list goes on and on. Vi has always been independant and confident but she is even moreso now. (I am totally crying right now.) She was very lucky to have the most amazing teacher, Mrs. Smith. I can not sing her praises enough!
As you have all heard throughout the year Vi has made some really amazing friends. She had a good group of kids in her class. There are three of them (the three amigos) that have had many ups and downs, three girls is never a good thing and at the same time is the best thing as I learned during the third week of school. One moment they were the best of friends and the next they were "not going to my birthday party". Vi kinder year would have not been the same without them, they are her sisters as she likes to tell everyone.
So...til we meet again, my amigo friend...
