Last Day of First Grade

Well, first grade has come to an end. What an amazing year! I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time helping at her school. Victoria had a great year! She got some awards for her work...here they are listed below:
Achievement in Reading
Achievement in Writing
Achievement in Math
Reading goal achieved (they need to be reading at a 15-16 level by end of first grade. she is at 23-24! awesome!!)
And for the big one...200 BOOKS READ!! She read the most in her class! She got a $10 gift card to Target!
We are SOO proud of her!!

This was very cool. Every grade wore a different color of the rainbow. First grade is in blue. Me and Vi are in there...

So summer break has officially begun...We have lots of things going on. Two weeks of gymnastics camp, a week of church camp, a week of music camp and a visit from Papa Dad, Sabrina, Madeline and Otis.

Besides all that fun stuff she has lots of work to do. We bought her the Judy Moody series to read and Mrs Asta sent home lots of math and two journals.

We are going to really enjoy the summer!

End of year fun days

Well...first grade is coming to an end. Next Thursday is a wrap. So this week and next week there are lots of fun things planned.

Wedsnesday was water safety day. They had water bouncies and snow cones.

Today they had someone come in and bring reptiles. The kids loved it, they got to pet a breaded dragon, a corn snake and a lizard.

Next week they are have pajama day and a movie marathon day.

Puffer Fish Book

During each of the thematic units Victoria has to do a project. They are now studying the Ocean. Vi chose to do her project on the Puffer Fish and the project she chose was making a book. Next week she will have to stand in front of her class and read the book. Here is a video of her practicing. She did a great job!

Starbound Competition

Yesterday Victoria had a competition. It was a LOOONG day...we left the house at 6:30 am and got back about 4:30 pm. Vi was in 3 dances; first a tap dance trio, then a jazz group with 3 other girls and finally a jazz group with 7 other girls. They did SO good. All her dances got Gold! They got a trophy to keep at the studio and each girl got a blue ribbon. I was able to video her performances. I uploaded them to you tube...the links are below...

Just about to go on for Conga. You'll see in the video the judges were dancing and cheering them on. They saw that onstage and it made them feel so good.

Busy Weekend

Victoria had a very busy weekend. Saturday afternoon she went to Joi's birthday party. It was a beautiful day to hang with friends in the park. After the party she went to Crazy Granny's house to spend the night. They went swimming, walked Wyatt and ate pizza. Sunday after church they headed up to Cave Creek to go horseback riding. This is when she got stung by a bee. Yep, her first bee sting. But that didn't stop her, granny put some medicine on it and she was off to go horseback riding. After a shower and a treat it was an early night...

Birthday Party

Today Victoria went to a birthday party for one of her friends from dance class. It was a beautiful day to spend outside at the park. She was very excited to hit the pinata, she was 4th in line, unfortunately the second kid in line knocked it down. She did however hit it while it was laying on the ground.

So I know it has been awhile. Things have been kinda busy. There is only 4 more weeks of school so I have been trying to figure out what to do this summer. Vi is signed up for two weeks of gymnastics camp, vacation bible school and music camp. Plus Sabrina, Madeline and Otis are coming in for a week so I think we are set.
